Levels & Skills

TYF Adventure: Coasteering basic safety: essentials of tides, waves and weather, recovery position, deep water rescue, throw lines, group safety. (Half day)

TYF Adventure: Coasteering Rescue Standard: tides, waves, weather, basic first aid, predicting conditions, rescue equipment, emergency procedures and personal skills – swimming, climbing, jumping. (Two days)

TYF Adventure: Associate Guide Scheme: designed for people with full time jobs elsewhere who love playing in the outdoors, and like the idea of developing the qualifications and experience that mean that they can work as a freelance guide with TYF, and take their friends and children to play safely on the coastline. The coasteering element of this includes the Coasteer Rescue Standard, NARS Lifesaving training and assessment and emergency first aid qualifications, plus the logged assisting and leading hours that are required for ‘full sign off’. (Custom fit programme)

TYF Adventure; The Do Adventure programme: gives participants an unrivaled opportunity to develop their ability to use adventurous learning as a lever for change. Do Adventure provides background knowledge and context on key issues that are challenging humanity today – climate, food, energy, justice, biodiversity, resources, and explores the way that learning and teaching differently can be used as a tool to engage hundreds of thousands of people in thinking and doing things differently. Participants will gain practical qualifications for teaching and working using the outdoors and an ability to connect nature and adventure in a way that’s not been done before in the UK. During the 6 month programme you will learn all about Coasteering basic safety, coasteer rescue standard plus a whole lot more.
